AI Research at Brown

Brown’s National Science Foundation-funded AI Research Institute on Interaction for AI Assistants (ARIA) embraces the integrated study of human cognition and machine cognition. It brings together researchers in computer science, neuroscience, cognitive science, philosophy, law and education with mental health practitioners and civil society groups to advance technology and improve human wellbeing.
The Center for Technological Responsibility, Re-imagination and Redesign (CNTR), housed within the Data Science Institute at Brown, is dedicated to advancing technologies that center the needs and aspirations of all peoples and communities. The center has a particular focus on those historically underserved and marginalized by technological development.
